Dutch DJ and producer Frederik Abas share his personal journey to realizing ideas you never even imagined were feasible.

Frederik had a desire of becoming a pilot since he was a small child. He grew up wanting to emulate his father, who was a KLM pilot and a notable figure in the aviation industry. We didn’t start falling in love with music, djing, or production till he became fifteen, around the time he entered his teenage years. He used to frequently visit locations that caused him to reevaluate his interests, as well as new hopes and possibilities since he frequently visited these locations. After graduating from high school in 1991, Frederik started working as a light and sound technician for a drive-in theater company. Two years later, he began performing music at college and wedding parties.

In the music industry, it’s crucial to stand out for a genre or personalized style that sets you apart and eventually becomes your identity or brand. Frederik’s style is recognized as vibrant and danceable without sacrificing his underground individuality.

Abas has been the main DJ at Escape Amsterdam, the biggest nightclub in Amsterdam, since 2005. In 2006, DJ Tiësto gave Frederik the honor of a personal invitation to perform a marathon 3.5-hour club and tech house set at his own event. A residency at Bloomingdale Beach Club followed, with Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano, Roog, Don Diablo, and important DJs from Escape like Quintino, Sidney Samson, Jean, and Tony Cha Cha.

At some time in their careers, every artist and professional has drawn inspiration from someone or something. DJ Marcello and DJ Dimitri Kneppers, the creators of Dutch house music, were early inspirations for Abas. He was also inspired at the time to perform clubhouse and tech house music because his future was already set.

During his career choices, he looked into law school and other possibilities, but everything ultimately brought him to music. Frederik’s work as a booker for the renowned and successful Loveland firm in the Netherlands began at the Beverwijk Bazaar in 1994. Frederik has performed at the Loveland Festival for eight years.Daxsen Space : Music Production with Extraterrestrial Sounds decoding(Opens in a new browser tab)

Abas has big ambitions for 2023, including hosting a lot of events and devoting himself to studio initiatives that will boost his notoriety. With a focus on Tomorrowland, he will shortly fly to the US to play in Los Angeles.
