New York, NY: On Location Tours, the premier TV and movie tour company, has launched their private On Location Tours Marvelous Mrs. Maisel Sites Tour in a classic 1957 Chevy movie car, which was used in the series and in Indiana Jones! Guests taking the tour are encouraged to dress in their best 1950s garb as they get whisked back in time to Midge’s memorable haunts throughout Manhattan.
Some guest-favorite sites featured on the tour include The Gaslight Cafe, otherwise known as the comedy club where it all begins; the infamous arch in Washington Square Park where Midge leads a protest, and several real-life cafes that were transformed in the series to include fifties-style decor. One of these cafes is Cafe Reggio, the first cafe in the United States that served cappuccinos. Guests can order their very own cappuccino and recreate the scene with Midge’s father Abe when he meets with his lawyer. Passengers can also “tune” into their own musical talent at The Music Inn, home to vintage instruments and antique records. The tour includes an opportunity for fans to stage a photo-op in front of Lutzi’s Butcher, where Midge notoriously shouts “We’ve got the rabbi!” The tour explores Manhattan neighborhoods including Greenwich Village and the Gramercy area, and the tour guides are local New York City actresses who share behind-the-scenes info.
The three-person classic car tour is approximately two hours long and is $150 per person. The tour is a COVID-friendly way to see sites from the series in a small group. Masks are required regardless of vaccination status.
