Kimberley Reyes is the Founder of Kimberley Reyes & Co, a company that provides Online Business Management and Virtual Assistant services to business owners who are ready to overcome overwhelm so they can focus on their genius.

Since 2008, Kimberley Reyes & CO has consistently provided top-notch virtual business support for businesses all over the world.

For more details, visit their website here.

Here we sit down with Kimberley, to know a bit more about her journey as virtual business support.

Q. What inspired you to become an entrepreneur?

Kimberley: As an entrepreneur myself, I know what it feels like to have to do all the things myself. I eventually felt overwhelmed and burnt out. I thought, “There has got to be a better way!” And that’s when I came up with the idea of onboarding virtual assistants. With my unique training strategy, I was able to create a team of virtual assistants that can help in all areas of their operations: admin, design, tech, copy, and more! I started offering the service to other entrepreneurs and it was a hit!

Q. How did you get started?

Kimberley: I was a college student when I started Kimberley Reyes & Co. I offered virtual support myself to gain experience and knowledge of what clients are looking for. My clients were so happy with the support that they suggested that I expand the business. That is when I started building a team to help cater to more clients. Now, we have a team with admin assistants, tech assistants, designers, and copywriters.

Q. What was your biggest startup challenge? What steps did you take to overcome it? What did you learn?

Kimberley: Back in 2008, work-based online was pretty much unheard of in my country. I received a ton of resistance about the business, especially from the family who expected me to go the traditional route: graduate from university then find work in the corporate world. It was definitely a difficult (and lonely) journey, but I knew the world was on the way there and I just couldn’t miss the opportunity. I’m happy I stuck with it because look at where we are now!

Q. What is the Most Memorable Thing You’ve Done Since you Started your Business?

Kimberley: It’s actually starting the business and sticking with it. It was me against the world back then, but I truly believed in the business and how it can grow to help, not just entrepreneurs, but also people who are in search of income opportunities online. I’m proud that I stayed with it because we have helped numerous businesses grow while also providing online work opportunities.

Q. What is one book you recommend, and why?

Kimberley: “Who Moved My Cheese?” took me through a paradigm shift. It taught me that change is inevitable and all we can do is to move with it – even if we’re afraid; even if things are not yet as clear as we’d like them to be.

Q. What are your top 3 favourite online apps, tools, or resources and what do you love about them?

Kimberley: My favorites would be Asana for project management, Dubsado for client management, invoicing, and contracts, and Slack for team communications.

Q. In terms of legacy, what is the mark you’d like to leave on the world?

Kimberley: I’d like to be remembered as the woman who started a business that genuinely cares for its clients and its people – because it’s possible to make money while also changing lives for the better.

Q. In one sentence, what’s the best advice you’d give to someone just starting out on their entrepreneurial journey?

Kimberley: I’d like to take one of the most memorable quotes I read from the book, Who Moved My Cheese?: “What would you do if you weren’t afraid?” The entrepreneurial journey can be lonely, difficult, and scary, but if you put all those aside, you’ll be surprised at what you can do.
