Natasha Baker is a spiritual alignment coach, tarot reader, and the owner of Bright Soul Healing. Her work centers around assisting the collective in processing trauma and unhealthy emotions, reframing negative thought loops, and healing from impactful past experiences.

For more details, visit their website here to book a Reiki session, tarot reading, or 1:1 mentorship session.

Here we sit down with Natasha, to know a bit more about her journey as a spiritual alignment coach.

Q. What inspired you to become an entrepreneur?

Natasha: Honestly, it was the only thing that made sense to me. I have tried a wide variety of jobs since I was old enough to work, most notably personal training and bartending. In both avenues, I found that people just naturally opened up to me, and I was able to help them find clarity and silver linings through my own personal growth journey. I have always been the “life coach” friend, so to step into that role professionally felt seamless.

Q. How did you get started?

Natasha: When I first began therapy in 2017, I never thought launching a business would be in my near future. I was very lost in life and felt like I was going in circles. Every step was mired in self-doubt, every day felt the same. I lacked passion, purpose, and direction. Therapy led me to unravel a world of self-examination, and once I started to peel back the layers of human psychology I was hooked. I enrolled in a counseling program, which I recently completed with a 4.0, and also started a podcast titled ‘How to be a Better Person.” I began taking one on one clients a little over a year ago, and through life coaching, I’ve been able to guide many clients on their own personal growth journeys. Healing requires you to confront the darkest parts of yourself and to be able to facilitate that experience with my clients, seeing them fully step into themselves the way I did, is what drives me every day.

Q. What was your biggest startup challenge? What steps did you take to overcome it? What did you learn?

Natasha: Starting a business right in the beginning stages of COVID-19 made me very nervous, as I could see that people were undergoing very serious emotional struggles from homelessness to overwhelming grief, and yet that very observation made me even more determined to launch my program anyway and actively market my business online. I made my process for onboarding new clients quick and easy so that I could begin working with people that very same day if they wanted to, because the need for community and support during that time was incredibly high for a lot of people. I would do giveaways from time to time, or run sales in order to be even more accessible. In building a business, you learn that building a connection with your clients comes first.

Q. What is the Most Memorable Thing You’ve Done Since you Started your Business?

Natasha: Most recently, I was approached by Dr. Michele Finneran, a licensed professional counselor in Florida, about being on my podcast “How to be a Better Person.” She has a Ph.D in Conflict Resolution, operates her very own private counseling practice in Florida, and recently published a book on surviving domestic abuse. It was very exciting to interview her about the book and talk openly about how abusive relationships can begin, as well as her experience interviewing countless survivors for the book. You can look forward to the episode being published towards the end of January!

Q. What is one book you recommend, and why?

Natasha: This is a challenging question for me, as I have read entirely too many books over the course of my life, but I would say one of the most impactful books that everyone should read is “Attached: The New Science of Adult Attachment” by Amir Levine and Rachel Heller. Attachment issues are something I think almost everyone struggles with and sometimes they don’t even know it. It was a very eye-opening read for me when I first began therapy!

Q. In terms of legacy, what is the mark you’d like to leave on the world?

Natasha: If nothing else, I hope to inspire others to let their light shine and never stop doing what they feel is right in their heart. All of my future career plans center around showing individuals how to be their very best selves and to accept nothing less from everyone around them.

Q. In one sentence, what’s the best advice you’d give to someone just starting out on their entrepreneurial journey?

Natasha: Don’t give up. There are always going to be challenges – they are meant for you to overcome, to teach you about yourself, and to show you what you are capable of. The only way to know is to give it all you’ve got.
