Here we sit down with Alena, to know a bit more about her journey as an entrepreneur.

Q: Tell us a little more about your journey as an entrepreneur – how did you get started? What inspired you?

Alena: Back in ’09, living by the beach in Sydney I was recovering from trauma and raising a little boy on my own. Working, studying, surviving… I decided there was more to my mission and began learning about Permaculture, Soulful Parenting and how to show up as an authentic leader.

My blog was the front door to a world of ideas. I was hooked on a process of intense recovery and self-development whilst showing up as a mother, friend, student, and employee.

Q: What entrepreneurial tricks have you discovered to keep you focused and productive?

Alena: I’m an advocate for structured flow. For me that means ensuring there are spaces in the calendar for creating and how you feel on any given day, but popping in all the not-negotiables that are required to keep the business going.

Q: How do you stay organized with such a busy schedule?

Alena: I am always looking to DELETE the actions that are not aligned with my personal and professional goals. I remain agile. I move things that need moving but always prioritising a gold standard of experience for my clients.

That means prioritising connection with people over procedures or SOPs always. I do block out days for particular areas of the business and that works well for me. Fluidity and agility and clarity are the core principles.

Q: What would you wish for if you had a magic wand?

Alena: I want all women to know their power, to know they have everything within them that they need in order to heal and go do the thing they were put here on earth to do.

Safety and authenticity are human rights, I wish everyone could experience those as their ‘norm’ especially women and children.

Q: If you were to write a book about yourself, what would you name it?

Alena: I would name it “Good Enough: Dismantling the Perfection Myth and Emerging Empowered through Motherhood.”

Q: What motivates you?

Alena: I am here to make a change, master my gifts in service of the greater good, and be there for family and friends. How? By helping women heal inter-generational trauma and show up as the best mums, and humans, possible.

Q: What is one of the best or most worthwhile investments you’ve ever made?

Alena: My children – and getting a black belt in Hapkido.

Q: What key activities would you recommend entrepreneurs invest their time in?

Alena: Self-mastery, leading with compassion, and ethical entrepreneurship.

Q: What is your ‘one-sentence’ piece of advice you’d like to give to someone who wants to become an entrepreneur, coach or business owner?

Alena: The only thing in the way, is you.
