LightTouch Med Spa Orlando Manager on Growing His Business

With thousands of layoffs announced this past November alone, it looks like the Grinch may steal Christmas after all. But one Florida business is enjoying many happy returns this year, thanks to a renewed interest in personal care.

As we near the end of the year, popular MedSpa LightTouch Orlando is on track to make Allergan’s top 10 list for growth overall in Florida as well as for individual locations. It is also on track to make top 250 in the country according to Allergan’s APP program. Allergan is the pharma giant that produces Botox injections, one of the most popular procedures at LightTouch and many other clinics across the country. Although LightTouch has been around for nearly two decades, manager Alex Medeiros says that growth shifted into high gear just after Covid began. 

 

“We just recently expanded our existing clinic from three treatment rooms to 14, which is obviously a substantial expansion aimed to allow our business and customer base to grow,” he says. LightTouch now employs 12 full-time staff and six full-time injectors.

 

While doing business in one of the top 10 fastest-growing American cities certainly helps, LightTouch has benefited from a national culture shift as well. “Everyone wants to look better and feel better,” Medeiros says. “During the pandemic, there was a huge increase in awareness that we need to take care of our mental health, which so often means elevating our self-esteem and self-confidence.”

 

Indeed, the Orlando medspa has been extremely effective in reaching out to a more diverse demographic than is typically associated with aesthetic procedures. One in five of its customers are now men, nine in ten customers are under the age of 50, and 10 percent of its clientele are Spanish speakers. 

 

Medeiros says that educating customers and potential customers on its social media channels has been key to reaching new customers, particularly young people. LightTouch has thousands of followers on Instagram alone. And though he says that customers should never choose a clinic based on price alone, LightTouch patients can receive Botox for under 10 dollars per injection — a price that not only grabs attention, but is hard for others to match.

 

“In terms of cosmetic injectables, we are clearly the volume leader in Orlando, making us stand out above our competition,” Medeiros observes. “Our prices reflect that, not the other way around. We didn’t get to this position without learning a thing or two about our clients, services, and competitors.”

 

LightTouch also offers an array of laser treatments, including hair and vein removal, as well as specialized treatments for scars, sun damage, and acne. “We have almost 20 years of experience in the industry,” Mederios says, “but we are always on the leading edge of all types of injectable treatments, including new products on the market and, just as importantly, newer techniques to use them.”

 

One such technique is using a cannula needle for injectable treatments in order to reduce the incidence of bruising and make the treatment experience more comfortable. LightTouch is now always one of the first medspas to introduce new filler products from Allergan, and is often involved in its product launches. “We just recently introduced the newest Hydra Facial technology and serums to allow clients the opportunity to experience the latest in advanced facial treatments,” Medeiros says.

 

Newer methods and technologies ensure that a clinic remains at the forefront in the competitive medspa industry, which, according to Medeiros, is what ultimately creates a loyal clientele and fuels future growth. To keep its customers engaged, LightTouch publishes a popular blog on timely trends such as baby botox, meaning that clients do not need to shop around for the latest and greatest trends. 

 

“We’ve done it for them,” Medeiros says. “Of course, there will always be something new, but we can easily sort through the myriad of beauty technologies and products, and then choose only the best for our clients.”
