Harnoor Singh – Interview by Mentors Collective 2022

Q. What piece of advice would Harnoor give to college graduates who want to become entrepreneurs?
Harnoor: My best advice will be to think of college as a platform to be a good Employee but not be a good Employer or Entrepreneur. Therefore, I recommend all of them not to restrict their time just in their college, but to network and to explore the world outside, explore new ideas and become the best version of themselves. This way they will have a better idea of their real passion.

Q. If you had the chance to start your career over again, what would you do differently?
Harnoor: If I have to start my career again then I will definitely think of starting business early or to start my YouTube channel earlier than I had. I think we learn by doing and the right time to start anything is NOW.

Q. What would you say are the top three skills needed to be a successful entrepreneur?
Harnoor: Top three things that are needed for any entrepreneur to be successful are to first to forget about “I” or yourself and always have a clear picture of “we”. Second, be creative and innovative to create something that people want rather than you think they want. That means do proper research and strategy before starting. And third give your 120% or more as they say by going above and beyond your goal. As Elon Musk once said, by working 80 hours a week rather than 40, he is able to achieve things in 6 months that take 12 months for others.

Q. What entrepreneurial tricks have you discovered to keep you focused and productive in your day-to-day busy schedule?
Harnoor: I think the most common tricks like planning my day and doing things as they come in mind are the best tricks that make my life easy. When I think of deadlines I don’t sleep till I finish at least 90% of that task.

Q. What key activities would you recommend entrepreneurs to invest their time in?
Harnoor: I will recommend entrepreneurs to invest most of their time in researching their ways to create value rather than building the product first. For example, when we compete in Tech startups and Hackathons they fund the startup that has a bigger impact than better implementation.
