Here we sit down with Victor, to know a bit more about his journey as an entrepreneur.

Q. What inspired Victor to become an entrepreneur?

Victor: I was in the corporate world for a long time, and I was getting tired of it. I was in a rut, and I felt the corporate had become more cutthroat and people were not appreciated and were treated as expendable.
Because of this I became intrigued with the idea of working for myself and becoming my own boss. I would not have to worry about a company getting rid of me if they felt they did not need me anymore. I would be responsible for my work and my success.

Q. How did Victor get started?

Victor: When I left the corporate world, I tried several different businesses and struggled. I fell prey to something called Shiny Ball Syndrome (aka Shiny Object Syndrome). I would join a business and then I would see another opportunity, and then I would jump to that opportunity. I was not consistent and was not successful in any of them. I learned to focus on one opportunity and got myself a mentor to help guide me along the way and reduce the mistakes I made as well as reduce the frustration and stress of building a business with his guidance.

I also learned the importance of surrounding myself with successful people because you are the average of the 5 people you spend the most time people.
I also learned the importance of personal development and mindset early on in my journey. That has paid huge dividends for me.

Q. What was your biggest startup challenge? What steps did you take to overcome it? What did you learn?

Victor: My biggest challenge was the mindset shift. To become an entrepreneur you have to switch from an employee mindset to an entrepreneur mindset. With an employee mindset, I was used to having someone telling me what to do. I did what I was told to me. I also had someone to keep me accountable, which was my boss.

When you are an entrepreneur and work for yourself, you don’t have someone telling you what to do. You don’t have a boss. You also don’t have someone holding you accountable. It is very easy to get distracted and take off a lot of days and get lazy. You say to yourself that you can do it tomorrow since you have no one to hold you accountable. You have to become accountable and make sure you don’t get distracted and lazy. You need to make sure you are consistent and work every day. Getting an accountability partner or a mentor to hold you accountable is very important, especially when you get started. This will help prevent you from procrastinating a lot, which is the temptation when you get started and work for yourself.

You will also deal with struggles and obstacles. Many people take obstacles as a sign that they should quit. Obstacles are there to teach you and make you stronger. If you can overcome these obstacles and adversities in the beginning, then you can overcome almost any challenges in your entrepreneurial journey.

Q. What is the Most Memorable Thing Did Victor has Done Since he Started his Business?

Victor: The most memorable thing in the lives of people I have touched and have helped succeed. There is no greater feeling than when someone messages you, texts you, calls you, emails you or comes up to you thanking you and telling you how much your guidance and coaching helped them succeed and how they are grateful for the help you gave them. When you hear something like that, it makes you feel so good and you are immensely touched by that.

Q. What is one book you recommend, and why?

Victor: For living the best life possible, I recommend The Bible. This will teach you to lead the life God wants for you, and if you follow His will, all will work out in the end. You will realize how much He loves you and how precious you are to Him. When you realize that, then will you want to serve Him and become closer to Him.

If you want to be successful in your profession or as an entrepreneur, then I recommend The Success Principles by Jack Canfield. It is the best book I have ever read on success, and you can apply it to any field or profession. This book has changed the lives of many people who have applied its principles. “The principles always work if you always work the principles,” as Jack Canfield says.

Q. What are your top 3 favourite online apps, tools, or resources and what do you love about them?

Victor: I love the Facebook app. I use it all the time wherever I am to keep in touch with people, message people, go Live on Facebook, and check my news feed.

I also love the Instagram app. I get to see what my friends are posting on this app, and can also go live on it, and message them as well. Lots of great photos and messages are posted on it.

I also love the Clubhouse app. I have made a lot of great friendships with a lot of successful entrepreneurs over the past year on it. You can learn a lot of great things on this app on many different subjects.

Q. In terms of legacy, what is the mark you’d like to leave on the world?

Victor: I want to leave the world a better place for my family and friends, and I want to have inspired many others to have done more with their lives and become successful.

I also want to be someone who followed God’s will for his life.

Q. In one sentence, what’s the best advice you’d give to someone just starting out on their entrepreneurial journey?

Victor: You are paid for the value you bring to the marketplace, not the hours you put in, and you should focus on solving people’s problems and serving their needs and desires to become successful.
