Starting her company, Supporting World Hope, from the hospital bed as a result of being diagnosed with cancer, Sabrina Walker Hernandez is obsessed with building relationships and helping nonprofits and small businesses increase revenue. Having trained over 10,000 clients, Sabrina has a reputation for transformational leadership through staffing and mission alignment, fundraising, expanding programming, and community partnerships.
From helping her organization go from $750K to $2.5M, being responsible for a $12M comprehensive capital campaign, to establishing a $500K endowment in the 3rd poorest county in the United States, Sabrina is using her knowledge to help clients gain confidence in fundraising, and building effective fundraising systems.
Below we sat down with Sabrina, to learn a bit more about her journey as a female entrepreneur.
Q. What inspired you to become an entrepreneur?
Sabrina: I was inspired to become an entrepreneur because I wanted to help those who were stressed out and overwhelmed become better leaders.
Q. What was your biggest startup challenge and how did you overcome it?
Sabrina: The biggest startup challenge I faced was how to create an expert reputation online. I overcame this challenge by attending a year long business coaching program and learning from other experts.
Q. What are your top 3 favorite online apps, tools or resources and what do you love about them?
Sabrina: My top three favorite apps are 1. Buffer which allows me to schedule Linkedin posts. 2. Mailchimp, which is a great tool that allows me to communicate with my audience on a consistent basis. And 3. DropFunnels which allows me to create funnels & landing pages, host courses and track leads very easily at a very affordable price.
Q. In one sentence, what’s the best advice you’d give to someone just starting out on their entrepreneurial journey?
Sabrina: Relationship is the key to revenue success. Relationship + Result = Recurring Revenue.
Q. What’s one thing in your routine that you do consistently that has made a huge difference in your personal or business life?
Sabrina: The one thing in my routine that I do consistently is having a system to track my things-to-do list. Monday mornings I spend 2 hours creating the list for the week over breakfast. Then the remainder of the week I get the joy of scratching things off the list. If I don’t get to an item it simply rolls over to next week.
