Here we sit down with Roy, to know a bit more about his journey as an entrepreneur.

Q. What inspired you to become an entrepreneur?

Roy: It was a natural process as my family has always owned and run businesses, in real estate to succeed you have to create a strong personal brand.

Q. How did you get started?

Roy: We have run multiple small businesses prior to real estate, GPS was founded after working for another property investment firm, we were a team within a team, after a short time, it was time to make the move and create our own little empire suited to our principals and style.

Q. What was your biggest startup challenge? What steps did you take to overcome it? What did you learn?

Roy: Funding, perseverance till you start making money, settlements were long and few in between.

We were only able to overcome it by keeping the funnel full and persevering over the first few months.

The learning was to really focus on the end result and take measurable, realistic steps towards the end goal.

Q. What is the Most Memorable Thing You’ve Done Since you Started your Business?

Roy: As we are a national company they travel better main states in Australia has been a great experience.

As far as most memorable would be achieving record sales and success despite the odds on a number of projects.

Q. What is one book you recommend, and why?

Roy: Other than our very own “My Property Guide” plug lol. If you are interested in real estate and mindset training it will have to be Rich dad, poor dad and Anthony Robbins work.

Q. What are your top 3 favourite online apps, tools, or resources and what do you love about them?

Roy: Hard to keep up nowadays, in our field would be any of the personal budgeting apps or property investment analysis apps without naming any in particular.

Q. In terms of legacy, what is the mark you’d like to leave on the world?

Roy: Business-wise, it’s to provide an ethical business framework that can be remembered for all the good things, and educate people that don’t necessarily come from a privileged background that they can start building their own empire to suit their needs and lifestyle.

Q. In one sentence, what’s the best advice you’d give to someone just starting out on their entrepreneurial journey?

Roy: Whomever ever truly strives, WILL succeed.
