Here we sit down with Lisa to learn more about her journey as an entrepreneur.

Q. What inspired you to become an entrepreneur?

Lisa: First of all, I’m all about helping others and empowering them to achieve their dreams. I believe that every person has the potential to do amazing things, and I wanted to be a part of helping them unlock that potential.

But let’s be real, starting my own coaching business wasn’t just about making an impact – it was also about making bank. I saw the potential for financial independence and the possibility of truly earning my own money for my own company. I knew I had the skills and expertise to make it happen. Plus, as an entrepreneur at heart, I craved the freedom and flexibility that came with being my own boss.

Building my coaching business has been a journey of growth and self-discovery. It’s forced me to step out of my comfort zone, push past my own limitations, and develop new skills. But the best part has been seeing the impact I’ve had on my clients’ lives. Nothing beats the feeling of helping someone achieve their goals and live their best life.

So if you’re thinking about starting your own coaching business, I say go for it! It’s not always easy, but it’s so worth it. Just remember to stay true to your passion, put in the work, and always strive for greatness.

Q. How did you get started?

Lisa: Pre-pandemic, I was working my 9-5 gig as a manager at a career center, where I helped employees achieve their career, side hustle, and personal goals. However, I was always disheartened by leaders who leveraged their position to belittle their team and the unjust treatment of staff – it was a total vibe killer. I felt like I was constantly trying to move forward, but with the hand brake on. I went through so much in my life – losing loved ones, a child of divorce, having an autoimmune disease – I know how precious life is, and I did not want to waste any more seconds in a place I did not belong.

Eventually, I had enough. I knew there was more out there for me. I wanted to wake up on Monday mornings excited to take on the day, make my own decisions, choose the people I worked with, and truly make a positive impact on people’s lives. Because let’s face it, life is too short to waste time on negativity and lost potential.

Q. What was your biggest startup challenge? What steps did you take to overcome it? What did you learn?

Lisa: You know, when it comes to building an online coaching business, a lot of folks think the biggest challenge is mastering the strategy. But let me tell you, after getting my education in coaching, business, and marketing, I quickly learned that the real hurdle was the mindset. It’s one thing to have all the skills and knowledge, but it’s a whole other ball game to find your voice, step onto the online stage, and share your authentic self with the world. Your values, your experience, your unpopular opinions, your life decisions – that can all feel pretty intimidating.

To be honest, I struggled with imposter syndrome and feelings of inadequacy myself. I was constantly worried that I wasn’t enough yet, even though deep down I knew I had to take action – imperfect action – to become the person I was meant to be. It was like she was always there, just out of reach.

And that’s why I’m so passionate about combining mindset with strategy in my coaching programs. Because I know firsthand how many entrepreneurs struggle with self-belief and impostor syndrome. I want to help folks break through those mental barriers and finally step into their true potential.

Q. What is the most memorable thing you’ve done since you started your business?

Lisa: I moved away for the winter. One winter I spent in Greece with my partner and the last one in Bali. I was working online, seeing amazing successes in my business, as I was feeling my best self when being in the warmth, following the sun.

But what truly moves and thrives me is seeing my clients having major results. Going from not wanting to speak on a stage to mastering the art of speaking and loving it. From having 0 clients to having 7k months.

From procrastinating to finally moving forward to create the life they want.

Q. What is one book you recommend, and why?

Lisa: The book I read when I did not know what would come next and how to find out what I wanted is “Wishcraft” by Barbara Sher. It is full of action steps.

You start reading it being confused and overwhelmed, and finish it on the other end, knowing exactly what to do.

Q. What are your top 3 favorite online apps, tools, or resources, and what do you love about them?

Lisa: Chat OpenAi is a true time saver.

Capcut because it enables everyone to create videos in their personal style.

Automation tools like Calendly are crucial to not spending time on things like appointment scheduling.

Q. In terms of legacy, what is the mark you’d like to leave on the world?

Lisa: I want to see open-minded, and kind people live a fulfilled and self-determined life.

I want to empower them to value their wishes, dreams, and needs and be able to create a life they love.

Q. In one sentence, what’s the best advice you’d give to someone just starting out on their entrepreneurial journey?

Lisa: Use what is already there. Take what is there – use it – see and evaluate what customers love and what not and then take it from there.

Imperfect action and failure always have more outcomes than a false sense of perfection. Feel the fear and do it anyway.
