Exclusive with Danielle Davis AKA NFTignition, Co-founder of Fame Lady Squad

Danielle Davis, also known as NFTignition. Co-Owner of Fame Lady Squad, the first all-female generative NFT project, launched in July 2021.

Fame Lady Squad (FLS) was also advertised as the first all-female team to run an NFT project as well, but about a month after mint, we learned that it was in fact 3 men lying about their identities that had built the project.  She was able to, with the help of an influencer named Artchick, convince the team to send 3 community members the project.

FLS has been leading innovation in the space ever since, including their podcast “From the Blockchain”, which educates and empowers women to become thought leaders in the Web3 space.

Here we sit down with Danielle, to know a bit more about her journey as an entrepreneur.

Q. Tell us a little more about your journey as an entrepreneur – how did you get started? What inspired you?

Danielle: Covid inspired me, I didn’t want my son to be at risk so I quit my job and spent my time researching everything.  I had an eBay store for a couple of months but then luckily I found crypto while scrolling Facebook and reading the comment section under a paywalled article ad. I spent months researching security, and trading before I jumped into day trading, which lead me to a project called Dontbuymeme, which included staking and NFTs, I spent all my time in the discord and telegram chat, and within weeks had built a project with a couple of people I had met in the chat. 2 and a half years later I have been involved in 34 projects.

Q. What’s one thing in your routine that you do consistently that has made a huge difference in your personal or business life?

Danielle: Be grateful, every single day. Be grateful for your opportunities and your support system, and be grateful for the chance to be early in a new space and help to grow and shape it into what it has become.  Be grateful for every connection you have, and always make time for them when the opportunity comes up.

Q. Who are your mentors and inspiration? and what knowledge or insight did they give to you that was valuable?

Danielle: Kenneth Bosak taught me so much about this space early on, he even convinced me to speak at my first conference. His community was so welcoming and helpful, I wouldn’t be where I am without them. Additionally, Chris aka Tidus.eth is always my go-to for security questions. Having one person you can trust in a world full of people trying to scam you is super important.

Q. What has been your most satisfying moment in business?

Danielle: Acquiring the Fame Lady Squad project.

Q. How do you market your business, and which tactics have been most successful?

Danielle: Marketing in Web3 is mostly done via Twitter and discord.  People tend to see right through the typical marketing tactics you are used to seeing in the web2 space, ads don’t get very much traction.  Spending time with the community, getting to know people directly, and building relationships is the best way to grow a strong community that will then grow itself.

Q. What have been your biggest failures or challenges?

Danielle: The biggest challenge has been delivering utility with no resources, we have recently joined a larger company to resolve this issue, but it was a very long 15 months of building with no incoming revenue (projects get most of their funding from the initial mint, which already happened before we got the project).

Q. How did this failure, or apparent failure, set you up for later success?

Danielle: The company we recently joined, that partnership was only able to happen because they saw how hard we worked with nothing for so long.

We built trust with them as well as most of the community through these actions.

Q. If someone was to create a TV show about you, what would it be about and what would it be called?

Danielle: It would be about the first-ever community takeover, the unrugging of the Fame Lady Squad project.

It would be called “Squad”
